Warrior Women Come Up Just Short

UNION, December 2, 2025 – The Union Adventist University women's basketball team suffered a tough loss at home this afternoon, falling to the Kansas Christian College Falcons, 64-56. Despite holding advantages in several key statistical categories, costly turnovers proved to be the difference-maker in the contest.

Our Lady Warriors were highly efficient from the field, hitting 44.4% of their shots (20-45) and an impressive 37.5% from behind the arc. The team also dominated the interior, tallying 34 points in the paint compared to KCC's 26. The team also out-rebounded KCC 39 to 29.

Leading the charge for Union was guard Nyanbay Puok, who delivered a powerful all-around performance with a team-high 18 points and 8 rebounds. Puok was also an absolute menace on defense, racking up 6 steals. Hailey Orian was also remarkably efficient, scoring 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting (2-of-2 from three-point range) and grabbing 7 rebounds. Kassie Abrahamson added 12 points, while Michelle Morara orchestrated the offense with 8 assists.

Unfortunately, the stat sheet showed a clear reason for the defeat: ball security. The team committed 23 turnovers during the game. Kansas Christian College capitalized heavily on these mistakes, scoring 18 points off turnovers, significantly outweighing Union's 10 points generated from the Falcons' miscues. KCC's biggest lead was 16 points, demonstrating their ability to capitalize on Union's mistakes.

The Falcons were paced by a standout performance from Hayley Diveley, who finished with a game-high 24 points, and Brittany Cato, who added 15 points.
