Union's acrobatic gymnastics team travels throughout the Midwest and nationally, performing at churches, schools and other venues. Acro has less in common with the artistic gymnastics seen at the Olympics and is more closely related to cheerleading and circus acrobatics. The Gymnaires are an exhibition performance team and do not compete.
Membership on the Gymnaires team gives class credit and can apply toward health and human performance general education requirements.
Theme | 2026-2027: Anchored - In Christ
As acrobats, the Gymnaires strive to bring our best and be our best in every team event, practice, instructional clinic, and performance. This pursuit is anchored in the daily discipline of strengthening and caring for our bodies, mastering acrobatic fundamentals, and supporting our teammates with trust, encouragement, and commitment.
Yet our greatest strength does not come from ourselves. We would not be able to accomplish these goals without our anchor firmly set in Christ. Through Him we are saved, set free, and empowered to love and serve others. Hebrews 6:19 reminds us that, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." As Gymnaires, we place our hope in Christ, trusting Him to keep us steady through challenges, humble in success, and united as a team.
